From Town Planner to Artist….I’m not quite sure how that happened!

I paint for the fun of it, for the calmness it brings; a total focus of colour, light, shade and the sheer love of creating something that someone will enjoy, hence the name, ‘Canvassing Happiness’.

I haven’t studied art, at least only as a schoolgirl, too many years ago to mention. I had no idea I could paint, and it was actually a present of a canvas and some acrylics that my daughter received for her 6th birthday that prompted me to try. I honed my skills through experimenting with colour and brush techniques, painting Lottie Long Ears (hare), Laurence (another hare…I like hares), Henry the Highland and Cyril the Swan, as pieces. An increasing number of commissions, and teaching my own and friends children to paint, encouraged me to set up workshops for children and adults. Now, it is my vocation, and something I thoroughly enjoy sharing.

My passion is colour; most evident in my animal pieces, although I am proud of my other work, particularly the planes and landscapes. Most of my work is commissioned, and I relish a challenge.

If you have ever wanted to own a piece of art, something of your own, that represents you or part of your family, or have wanted to give something unique to someone you love, then try me! ,Beaches, Boats, Bunnies, Cockerels, Cows, Deer, Dolphins, Dogs, Ellies, Fairies, Hares, Horses, Lakes, Moose, Owls, Penguins, Seas, Trees, Turtles ,Unicorns, and Zebra…..go on, add to the Gallery!
